Every four years, we get an extra day to focus on whatever matters most to us as individuals.
As marketers, it’s a bonus day… one more day to connect with consumers and get them excited about what we have to offer.
This year we’ve calculated what digital marketers stand to gain from one more day at the races, and the numbers aren’t small.
According to the US Census Bureau, in 2011 annual e-commerce sales grew to $194.3 billion, and these numbers show no signs of stopping. In fact, eMarketer predicts digital sales will grow by 11.3% this year.
Based on these figures, what’s one extra day worth in the digital marketing space? It’s worth nearly $600 million in additional digital sales.
